WASHOKU (Japanese Cuisine) 

Discover the world of Japanese cuisine.

This unique food culture has been deeply rooted in Japanese history, philosophy and rich natural resources of the surroundings.  The Japanese diet is one of a key factor of the highest life expectancy in the world.  

Kakyo's kitchen offers hands-on cooking workshops.

I will share easy, tasty and healthy original Japanese dishes that people eat in Japan. 

Homemade meals shouldn't be complicated, the simple dishes stand out. 

I will also introduce you to the important Japanese “UMAMI” ingredients such as Dashi, Miso, Sake, Mirin, soy sauce and how to use them in your daily cooking.

Recreate Japanese food of your own is totally achievable. 

 

Sample menu:  Teriyaki Chicken/Salmon, Miso Soup, Edamame salad.

Sample menu (Vegetarian) : Ganmodoki (Tofu & veggie patty), Egg plant with Umami Miso, Wakame salad.

We have more homemade Japanese dishes such as, Gyoza, Udon Noodle Soup, Tempura, Spring roll, Okonomiyaki, Stir-fry vegetable with shrimp, steamed buns, etc.

The menu will be announced regularly on this website and the social media (Facebook / Instagram).

*Please note, the menu changes according to the seasons, and fresh food availabilities.
